Replacing delaminated carpet with wood.
Water is able to cause damage to carpeting in several ways. De-lamination happen when a carpet becomes saturated with water that causes the adhesives that bind the face yarn to the supporting backing to dissolve or at the very least weaken. An older piece of carpet often has a traffic pattern (a pathway where people walk). The adhesives may be weakened by wear. Add water and the glues may deteriorate quickly. The photo of the beige carpet shows signs of adhesive deterioration from wear. Look carefully at the long ridges that run the length of the room. replaced with engineered wood flooring.
