The Power of Soda Blasting

A community based church suffered a fire in their food distribution center. The flames did very little structural damage. However, thick grey smoke left a heavy deposit of soot on the surfaces of an attic storage space, including the attic ceiling rafters. The air-conditioning system was cleaned and so were the walls and rafters. A soda blasting machine was used to remove the soot from the dirty/soot covered wood surfaces. This machine uses baking soda to remove the soot but does not grind away at the wood like an old fashioned sand blaster, which is just too abrasive.  The results are amazing and the smoke odor goes away too.
